Editorial Policy
How Skillo researches, writes, sources and corrects its coverage.
Who publishes Skillo
Skillo is an independent technology publication covering AI, Android, custom ROMs, Windows, Linux, Apple, security, programming, gaming and the technology behind entertainment. Articles are published under the Skillo Staff editorial identity or under the name of a specific, real author where one is credited. We do not publish under invented author names.
Accuracy and sourcing
We aim to report accurately and to be transparent about where information comes from. Wherever practical, factual claims and especially dates are traced to primary sources: official project or company websites, release notes, documentation, official repositories, developer blogs, or government and security advisories. When we rely on a secondary source, we say so.
- We do not claim something is official unless the source confirms it.
- We do not fabricate dates, quotes, statistics, specifications or official statements.
- News articles include a Sources section linking to the material we relied on.
Dates and historical archive
Each article shows its publication date, and an updated date when we have made a substantial change. Some articles document events from the past. These are clearly labelled as historical archive items and retain the real date of the original event rather than being presented as current news. We never artificially change a publication date to make an old article look fresh.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we want to fix it. If you spot an error, please contact us with the article and the correction. When we make a substantive correction to a published article, we update it and reflect the change in the article's updated date.
AI-assisted content
Some Skillo coverage is produced with AI-assisted workflows for research, drafting and editing. Regardless of how an article is produced, the same standards apply: factual claims are verified against real sources, and we do not publish AI-generated sources, quotes, dates, authors, statistics or specifications that have not been verified. Editorial responsibility for what we publish remains with Skillo.
Sponsored content and disclosure
Editorial coverage is independent of any commercial relationship. If content is sponsored or contains affiliate or paid placement, it is disclosed as such. Advertising does not determine our editorial conclusions. See our advertising page for how commercial placements work.
Public figures and sensitive topics
When coverage touches on public figures or sensitive topics, we aim to stay factual and neutral, distinguishing documented statements and official actions from third-party analysis, and we avoid unsupported allegations or speculation presented as fact.
