Ubuntu 24.04 LTS 'Noble Numbat' was released in April 2024. As a long-term support version it receives years of free security updates, extendable to a decade through Ubuntu Pro, making it a stable base for desktops and servers.

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS 'Jammy Jellyfish' was released in April 2022 with GNOME 42, a refreshed desktop with accent colours, and the standard five-year LTS security maintenance window, extendable through Ubuntu Pro.
