Lava Virat Curve Launches at ₹19,999 With a Dual Display and Dimensity 7100

What Lava announced

Lava has made the Virat Curve 5G official for the Indian market. According to the company's official listing and its launch coverage, the phone was unveiled on September 21, 2026 and goes on first sale on September 28, with a special launch price of ₹19,999. It comes in three finishes, Heritage Indigo, Makrana Ivory and Ellora Slate, all wrapped in a premium vegan leather back.

A curved AMOLED plus a rear mini display

The headline is a dual-display design. On the front is a 6.67-inch (16.94cm) FHD+ 3D curved AMOLED at 2400x1080 resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1.07 billion colours, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, 800 nits high-brightness mode and 1,100 nits peak brightness. On the back sits what Lava calls a unique rear mini display, a small secondary screen that gives the Virat Curve its 'dual display' hook at this price.

Dimensity 7100 and memory

Powering the phone is a 2.4GHz MediaTek Dimensity 7100 built on a 6nm process, which Lava says scores over 800,000 on AnTuTu. It is paired with 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM, expandable by a further 6GB of virtual RAM, and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Connectivity covers dual 5G SIMs, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C, an IR blaster and an in-display fingerprint sensor, though there is no headphone jack.

Cameras and battery

For imaging, the Virat Curve uses a 50MP Sony IMX752 rear sensor with EIS and a 13MP front camera with a screen flash, recording video up to 2K at 30fps and 720p slow motion at 120fps. Keeping it running is a 6,000mAh battery with 45W charging support; Lava quotes a 0-100% charge in about 92 minutes and up to 660 minutes of YouTube playback. The device is IP64 rated and MIL-STD-810H certified, and it weighs 184g at 8.55mm thick.

Clean Android 16 and what's in the box

The Virat Curve runs what Lava markets as clean Android 16 with no bloatware, no ads and no notification ads, backed by a promise of two major OS upgrades and three years of security updates. Notably for the unboxing, while the phone supports 45W charging, the retail box ships with a 33W charger. Lava lists the in-box contents as the handset, a USB Type-C cable, the 33W charger, a SIM ejector pin and a premium back cover.

Price and availability

Lava has set a special launch price of ₹19,999 for the Virat Curve 5G, with the first sale on September 28. Multiple outlets covering the launch note a ₹23,999 sticker price brought down to the effective ₹19,999 via bank offers. At that price, the combination of a curved AMOLED, a rear secondary screen, a Sony main camera and a 6,000mAh battery makes it an aggressive budget contender.
